Community Actors’ Studio Theater, Inc., Anniston, Alabama (McClellan)

Community Actors’ Studio Theater, Inc., Anniston, AL, located at the McClellan Center at the old Fort McClellan, is a volunteer theater organization that frequently holds performances at Zany Theater. Kimberly Dobbs is CAST’s Artistic Director. She has worked in the theatre business for over 30 years.

Drama Department of Jacksonville State University at Jacksonville, Alabama

The Drama Department at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama frequently produces Broadway-like shows for the local community. Student productions are directed by the Drama Department faculty, which is led by Ralph Blades, who is an Associate Professor and Department Chair.

YellowHammer Film Makers of NE Alabama

The YellowHammer Film Makers of NE Alabama is a local independent film organization that is dedicated to energizing the local community through the art of filmmaking. The founder is Annie Brunson, a local business entrepreneur.

Jacksonville State University Film Club

In addition to offering a new minor in filmmaking, JSU hosts its own film club. Participating students are encouraged to produce their own independent films. Jeffery Nichols, the JSU Guest Artist in Residence – Film Technology, is the club’s faculty advisor.

LongLeaf Studios

A part of the Northeast Alabama Entertainment Initiative, LongLeaf Studios consists of a newly construct film incubator and green screen, which is part of the State of Alabama’s efforts to attract films that will be shot in the state. The 18,000 square foot studio will house the largest green screen in a three-state area. Pete Conroy, a local environmentalist is the NEAI chairman.
